Xiara Mercado, known artistically as Xiara 2X, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Raised in a musically influenced household — with her father active as a radio host and traditional Puerto Rican singer — her connection to music developed early.
Her artistic path expanded through dance, poetry writing, choir participation, and visual arts. Before debuting as a solo artist, she worked as a vocalist, ghostwriter, and creative designer.
After losing a notebook containing dozens of songs and ideas, she redirected her focus toward building her own identity. In 2023, she debuted as a solo artist with “Con Otro,” establishing the persona Xiara 2X and positioning herself with a bold brand identity.
